How might we collaborate?

My Approach

Powerful professional learning happens through authentic collaboration and inquiry.

Rather than delivering pre-packaged solutions, I partner with you to co-construct learning experiences that honour your context, build on your existing strengths, and respect educator agency.

My practice is grounded in the same constructivist principles I advocate for in classrooms: we learn best when we're actively constructing meaning, questioning our assumptions, and building on what we already know. This means our work together will be dialogic, inquiry-driven and designed to build sustainable internal capacity rather than external dependency.

I bring intellectual curiosity, deep experience across IB frameworks, and a commitment to the messy, meaningful work of educational growth. Whether you're navigating curriculum design, strengthening pedagogical practices, or developing school-wide approaches to learning, I'm here to think alongside you.

Concept-Based Curriculum and Instruction for the Thinking Classroom

This facilitated workshop experience (adapted from Dr. Lynn Erickson's and Dr. Lois Lanning's signature work) invites educators into deep engagement with concept-based pedagogy. Fair warning: if you're seeking ready-made activities or prescriptive templates, this isn't the right fit. But if you're ready to grapple with complex ideas, challenge your assumptions, and co-construct new understandings about how students develop conceptual thinking — let's begin that journey together.

Workshop options
  • Exclusive facilitation for your department or whole staff
  • Open workshop hosting (where you provide facilities in exchange for complimentary staff places)

Professional Development & Training

Drawing from 20+ years of experience across continents and contexts, I facilitate inquiry into:

  • Concept-based pedagogy and curriculum design
  • Inquiry-based learning
  • Project-based and interdisciplinary approaches
  • Authentic assessment design
  • Creative writing and critical literacy

Each collaboration is shaped by your questions, your context, and your learning goals. We'll co-design the experience together.

Curriculum Design Partnership

I work with schools on curriculum design and review across the IB continuum, with particular expertise in concept-based curriculum and instruction, interdisciplinary learning design, and inquiry-based pedagogical approaches. Whether you're developing new programmes, refining existing curricula to strengthen conceptual rigour, or building assessment practices that align with your learning goals, the work is collaborative and grounded in your school's context.

This partnership might involve
  • Designing or reviewing curriculum frameworks and unit plans
  • Developing concept-based curriculum structures
  • Building interdisciplinary learning experiences
  • Strengthening inquiry-based teaching strategies
  • Aligning assessment design with learning intentions

The focus is always on building your team's capacity to sustain and evolve the work beyond our collaboration.

Accreditation, Evaluation and Inspection Support

Accreditation processes (IB, NEASC, Ofsted, ISI) can be opportunities for meaningful reflection and growth rather than mere compliance exercises. I can help you frame these experiences as genuine inquiry into your school's practices, supporting timeline development, documentation and staff learning in ways that strengthen rather than overwhelm your community.
